Future Roadmap of Long Beach Transit

Long Beach Transit’s (LBT) STAR Initiative is our way of looking at our transit service and gathering community feedback on how we can continually improve on-time performance, ridership, route efficiency, staffng, facilities and bus stop amenities. Based on the feedback received throughout the first two phases of the STAR Initiative, the project team has prepared recommendations on LBT’s future routes and services. These enhancements would shape the future of LBT’s network.

Principles of the STAR Initiative

  • Simplify service
  • Buses more often and longer hours
  • Improved customer amenities at bus stops
  • Better regional connections
  • Reduce duplication of service

The following brief video describes the STAR Initiative recommendations:
